Please welcome Anderson Morrow and Ralph Vera from The Brandt Companies to discuss BIM.

Anderson Morrow is a Senior Design Project Manager with Southland Industries. He has been a member of the Southland engineering team for 6 years, transitioning from the role of design engineer up to an engineering management position. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he has been practicing engineering since graduating 11 years ago, and has been working in the MEP industry for the past 6 years since joining Southland. During his career he has worked on projects in markets including midstream oil and gas, healthcare, life sciences, hospitality, and data centers among others. Current responsibilities include managing the mechanical and plumbing design teams for hyper-scale data center projects. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife and two daughters, as well and barbecuing and watching his Texas Aggie football team.

My name is Ralph Vera III, and I was born and raised just south of San Antonio, Texas, on a small family ranch where I learned the value of integrity and perseverance. Those early years working alongside my family taught me lessons that continue to guide me today.

After graduating high school in 2012, I carried those lessons into my career by joining Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 67. I spent five years gaining hands-on field experience before transitioning into the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Department, where I now serve as a Project Constructability Lead at Southland Industries. I’ve also had the privilege of spending the past seven years as a night instructor, mentoring apprentices and sharing the same knowledge and values that others once shared with me.

When I’m not working, you can usually find me outdoors working on small projects, hunting, fishing, or just relaxing on the porch. I’m a proud father of four and currently coach Little League baseball for our three boys. My partner, who inspires me daily, works at a pathology lab as a supervisor and is close to completing her master’s in business administration. My family is my foundation and motivation, and they remind me every day why I strive to work hard and lead by example.
