• A brief review of RCL concerns related to ASHRAE 15 and 34; how to comply with RCL using VRF.
• A discussion of VRF first cost vs. other HVAC technologies - as it relates to equipment, total HVAC contract, total overall building cost including structural, architectural and electrical costs; plus a look at energy savings over time.
• Recommendations for engineers providing commissioning and oversight for VRF installations - "What needs to be verified for a successful project?".

Biography Of Joel Hill:

Joel graduated with an engineering degree from Texas A&M and started his HVAC career with York International in 2002.  He joined HTS in 2003.  Joel became the VRV specialist after Daikin was added to the HTS family in 2007.  When HTS created DXS to provide a dedicated team to lead the development of the VRV market, Joel was selected to run the operation and provide the engineering support to the sales team. Joel has become the “VRV Guy” in Houston and has trained more than 300 installers & service technicians in the Houston area.  He has been heavily involved in the design and implementation of Daikin VRV in a wide range of building types from K-12, Hotel, Multifamily, and office buildings.  

Biography Of Jeff Ledsinger:

Jeff is the VRF Product Manager for Bartos Industries (A Plan & Spec Rep in Dallas since 1964) and heads up Bartos' new Houston Office.  Jeff is one of the early pioneers of VRF by having been involved in promoting the system since it was introduced to the U.S. Market in 2002. Jeff is a veteran of numerous VRF projects all over Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana, and has been in the HVAC industry for over 20 years.
