On November 13, 2014 The Houston Super Bowl Host Committee named sports marketing and event management veteran Sallie Sargent as its president and CEO.As president and CEO, Sargent will lead Houston’s planning and execution efforts to ready itself for the Big Game in 2017. The Host Committee is charged with planning and organizing the events surrounding Super Bowl LI, and is responsible for managing all logistical components leading up to the game including sponsorship, hospitality, volunteers, security and fan events.
“Sallie played an integral part in bringing Super Bowl fifty-one to Houston,” said Houston Super Bowl Host Committee Chairman Ric Campo. “She brings a breadth of experience staging high-profile events, and Houston is fortunate to have a professional of her caliber leading the charge toward 2017. We are proud to announce her as our president and CEO.”
Sallie Sargent

Her extensive resume includes previous Super Bowls, college bowl games, the NBA All-Star Game, MLB’s Charity Gala, the 2004 Democratic National Convention, the 2008 Republican Convention and a myriad of other large-scale entertainment events.
“It is an honor to lead the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee,” Sargent said. “I have enjoyed invaluable support from this community over the past two years, and I look forward to building on those relationships as we prepare to feature our region on the world’s stage in 2017. The Host Committee is committed to delivering an unparalleled Super Bowl experience driven by superior hospitality and unique local events. I can think of no better city than Houston to host Super Bowl fifty-one.”
A variety of events and activities will take place in the months and days leading up to Super Bowl LI. The Host Committee’s signature event will be Super Bowl Central, a 10-day fan festival anchored at downtown’s Discovery Green.
