Ben Westcott, Attorney-at-Law with Andrews Myers, PC, will present 2011 Texas Legislative Updates impacting the construction industry, including upcoming changes to lien laws and indemnity clauses that will affect small to mid-size business throughout the state effective January 1, 2012.    

Mr. Westcott’s practice focuses on transactional and dispute resolution aspects of construction law.  He has served as the chair for the ABC Greater Houston Legal Issues Committee for three years and was recently elected to the Board of Directors of ABC Texas.  Earlier this year, he was instrumental in crafting two construction-related bills designed to help contractors collect monies owed in a much quicker manner that were signed into law by Governor Rick Perry during the 82^nd Legislative Session. Mr. Westcott also drafted 2009 revisions to the Texas Trust Fund Statute.
